Man... It just feels like this franchise can never go to the next level. As much as I would love to focus on the past 20 years of this franchise's self-inflicted misfortunes, let's forget about that and focus on the Ron Rivera era.
Starting with November 15th, 2020. The Washington Football travels to Detroit and finds themselves down 24 points after giving up big plays on defense and waiting until the second half to perform on offense. They almost came back, but poor decision making from players and coaches prevented Washington from stealing the win after a horrendous first half.

If those last two paragraphs look identical, that's because it is. I only changed the date. Two years apart, two different names, same results.
That screams coaching to me.
So,excuse me if I scoff at Rivera saying that the scheme isn't the problems, it's the players.
As fans, there's only so much critiquing we can do about the team before a line is crossed. Like, I'm not going to sit here and say that I can do a better job at running a defense than Jack Del Rio, or call plays better than Scott Turner, nor make better decisions than Rivera... But what I can say is that when you look at what other teams are doing around the league and compare it to Washington, more often than not, Washington looks foolish.
If Washington wants to get out of neutral, the offense needs to look more like it looked early VS Jacksonville and late vs Detroit, and the defense must find way to stop making simple mistakes. They can't give up 160 yards on three plays and expect to win.
It can get much uglier Sunday vs Philly if they come start out slow like they did vs Detroit last week.
